The United States listed African Wild Dog (Lycaon Pictus) as endangered on January 23, 1984. Also known as the African Hunting Dog or Painted Hunting Dog they are skilled hunters and predators who travel through the grasslands of Africa, chattering like birds in a tight-knit family. Each dog has its own unique characteristic fur of mottled black and brown and weights in at 50lbs.
